It’s easy to overlook the power of limiting beliefs and spend years wondering why you can’t
seem to move forward and make lasting changes in your life. Though you might have grand
dreams of living a better life, limiting beliefs will keep prodding you to act in ways that are
counterproductive to those dreams.

Everything you do (or don’t do) is based on an internal set of subconscious beliefs.

In some situations these beliefs can be helpful, but they can also cause big problems by
placing limitations where none really exist. For example, if you hold a subconscious belief
that you don’t have what it takes to create a successful career, you’ll find yourself taking
jobs that offer little opportunity for promotion or advancement - or even satisfaction.

No matter how badly you want to experience more success in your career, you’ll continue
to think and act in ways that make it impossible to do so.

Limiting beliefs can be difficult to change because we often don’t realize they exist!

They reside in our subconscious minds and rarely make themselves known in obvious ways. Rather, we usually become aware of them when we decide to make changes in our lives and keep bumping up against invisible walls.

Visualization is one powerful tool that can be effective in changing limiting beliefs,
because the process of visualization speaks directly to the subconscious mind and plants
more empowering messages - which can override the limiting beliefs.

Before you enter into the visualization process, it’s a good idea to figure out what kind of
limiting beliefs you suspect you may have. Asking yourself specific questions and writing
down your answers can be an illuminating way to find out. Try questions like these for starters:

- Am I making as much money as I want? If not, why not?

- Do I love my career, or would I rather be doing something else?

- Am I happy with the size and state of my body? If not, why not?

- Am I happy with the things I’ve achieved in my life so far?

- What else would I like to achieve?

- Do I really believe I’m capable of doing these things?

- If not, why not?

As you write down your answers to these questions, you’ll likely notice some limiting beliefs
popping up in response. For example, when you ask why you’re not yet making the amount
of money you desire, your answer might be, “I’m earning as much as I can at my current job,
and there are no other prospects for me to get a better job right now.”

As much as that might appear to be true, it’s a limiting belief! In other words, you THINK it’s true, but in reality it’s simply your perception.

Once you’ve identified a limiting belief, write it down like these examples:

- I don’t believe I can make more money than I do now.

- I don’t believe I deserve a healthy, loving relationship.

- I don’t believe I can have a better career than I do now.

- I don’t believe I will ever be able to lose weight.

Once you’ve got a list of limiting beliefs, perform a visualization exercise daily and imagine that the opposite is true. For example, call up mental images of yourself receiving a great new job, or stumbling upon unexpected opportunities to boost your income in other ways.

Be sure to actually move yourself into the feelings of these visions as if you were really experiencing them rather than just “seeing” them in your mind.

It will take time and consistent effort to change your belief in what is possible, but the more you focus on consciously believing in the possibilities, the more you’ll begin to let go of your inner limitations and open to better circumstances.

Even better, the greatest part about this process is that you don’t need to know “how” something is possible - you just need to be willing to believe it is, and that is often enough to attract new opportunities that will change everything.

by: Rion Williams

If you’ve been studying self-improvement and wanting to have more success with women and dating, you have probably come across different ways of doing things.

There are many teachers who will teach you how to ‘act’ the part because you aren’t yet at the level of being truly comfortable and congruent in your own skin like a natural, ‘alpha male’ would be.

So they teach you things such as; stand up straight, stick your chest out, practicing holding her eye contact, moving slower, etc.

It may even look like progress is being made when you do these things that they have seen alpha male’s do. After all you’re taking ‘action’ and it must mean something.

Well, unfortunately that’s pretty much what it is; acting.

Look, you can try ANY number of body language ‘techniques’ or exercises but you’re STILL going to have the fear and incongruency around these beautiful and powerful women that you desire.

Ideally, you would want TRUE and PURE physiological change and a method to get there.

Isn’t there ANYTHING out there that will finally teach you how to effectively have real, core physiological change? I mean, true and pure change so that all of your actions stem not from acting but from ‘being’ that man of higher natural character?

Yes, there is finally an answer. It extends beyond NLP, hypnosis and body language exercises. It’s called Alpha Relational Dynamics.

No longer is it enough to just ‘know thyself’ anymore. Why? Because the root of your repression and lack of effectiveness is in these influential powers which you don’t understand.

You were born with and inherently have ‘the power’ to succeed with seducing women, it’s just been covered up and repressed by powers that you unknowingly allowed to be greater than you.

Women are representing a tremendous amount of socially leveraged power and no level of ‘inner game’ fixing or NLP is going to change the reality of that. You just have to understand your relationship to the root of the power she represents and what it means to you.

Things really aren’t that difficult but you just have to see through to the truth of what is going on and what has covered up your natural ability.

Once you understand your relationship to the powers of influence and where you fit amongst it all, THEN you will be able to clearly ‘be yourself’ and ‘be’ comfortable in your own skin because you can move that repression of your natural character into it’s proper place.

This equals fast physiological change and it happened for me too. One of my students said that it’s like ‘when someone tells you that your father wasn’t your father’. It’s that type of change.

In fact, I don’t see any other way if you were brought up in a social culture like this.

It’s either, remain ignorant to the grand relational dynamics and keep hitting the wall OR have cognition of the relational and social truth and reclaim your power.

Once you have your power, you’ll be able to consistently succeed with women and dating because you will always be doing the ‘right’ things physiologically and nonverbally around them. The social power they represent won’t be intimidating you and getting in your way anymore. You’ll be free to be yourself; but with power!

Though studying alpha male role models such as movie heroes can be important, it doesn’t necessarily lead to true change for yourself.

Apply alpha relational dynamics and you will ‘be’ more of what women want without resorting to gimmick tricks or techniques to ‘act’ the part. We all know that women will catch your ‘acting’. Find out more about the path to empowerment.

What is the true secret behind the law of attraction? I am often asked.

The most common definition for the law of attraction is that “like attracts like”.

This definition, even though accurate, hardly explains how the law of attraction works.

Some people talk about vibes and frequencies, but what is the most scientific explanation of the law of attraction?

The true secret behind the law of attraction hinges on the concept of reality and how much of it we can perceive.

The reality of the universe out there is so huge that our conscious mind cannot handle it in its entirety, so it has no choice but to filter the reality and let only a tiny fraction of it in.

What you perceive becomes your reality, and what you do not perceive does not even exist in your reality or your universe.

So once you have chosen a part of the vast reality of the universe to be perceived by you, in effect you attract that part of the universe to you.

That part of the reality of the universe was filtered by you, picked by you, or in effect attracted to you.

Now, the most interesting aspect of this filtering, that we do constantly, is that these filters only let similar reality to pass through.

To give you an analogy, blue shades would let only blue light to pass through.

This applies to all of our senses and to our perception in general.

This is the secret behind the law of attraction. One who wears green shades is attracting green color, per se.

You can see the same mechanism in Quantum Physics. The reality that state of the universe (wave function) offers is incredibly huge.

The possibilities are vast, but our measurement devices, which are extensions of our senses, pick only a small part of that reality.

In effect, they filter the universe to get the part we want to observe.

In other words, we get from the universe, what we ask for. Why?

Because when we truly ask for something, we are filtering everything out except the thing we want to receive.

That’s how the universe gets us what we are asking for.

That’s how we attract from the universe what we truly ask.

But what does “truly ask” mean? How should you ask to attract exactly what you want?

1. Every night, half an hour before retiring, go to your room, where you can be entirely alone and as remote as possible from noise and distraction.

2. Seat yourself in a wide and comfortable chair, or, better still, lie down on your back at full length. See that your clothing is loosened, so that you will suffer no distressing annoyance on this account. Compose yourself as if for sleep, assuming a position of restfulness, abandon and utter relaxation. Close your eyes, letting the lids rest lightly on your cheeks.

3. Shut your mind resolutely against every form of bodily sensation. Forget for the time that you are encumbered with a body.

4. Bar out of your consciousness every memory, every thought of the past.

5. Build a mental picture of the thing you want to have, to do or to be - the one thing that you immediately desire first and most of all. By this we mean nothing indefinite. We do not refer to ultimate aims that can come only as the result of long periods of effort. We mean something specific, something that can be yours tomorrow, something that in itself constitutes the next step in your chosen career.

6. See yourself finding the ways and means of realizing your desire, overcoming obstacles one after another, all the obstacles that can possibly arise. See yourself called upon to display, and displaying, alertness, promptness, courage, confidence, resourcefulness, patience, push, enterprise, expert knowledge, insight, shrewdness, tact, self-control, decision. See yourself face to face with the situation that confronts you in real life and manifesting the qualities and doing the things necessary to your purpose. Put yourself body and soul into this picture. Multiply details. Rivet your mind upon it.

7. Advance step by step, logically, wisely, consistently, to the climax of the drama. See yourself winning out. See yourself solving the problem, getting the thing you want, acting the part you desire to play. Detach your spirit from the flesh of this world and incorporate it in the mental image of yourself. Live the victory mentally until a sense of its reality permeates your soul.

8. Make your dream picture as delightful as possible. Dwell upon it with joyful satisfaction. Warm your heart with a feeling of thankfulness that that which you have so long desired is really yours. This feeling of gratitude, this emotional element, will bring forth associations that will give life to the picture and will animate your faith. Keep yourself tight shut in this dream world for at least fifteen minutes.

9. Arise and make your preparations for the night. Then upon retiring once more close your eyes and let your mind dwell upon your vision for five or ten minutes or until you fall asleep. Let it be the last thing in your thoughts as you become unconscious.

10. Every time you are awake during the night call the mental picture before you and keep it in consciousness as long as you remain awake.

11. In the morning, immediately upon awaking, repeat the procedure set out in the third, fourth and fifth instructions.

12. The more of your spare time you spend in this way, the more promptly will you actualize your ideals. By repeated concentration, every detail of the image of your desire will be so deeply engraved upon your mind as to exert an influence throughout the day. It will inhibit wasteful emotions and impulses. It will give you poise and self-possession. It will so inspire you with its promise as to awaken an energizing response in the profoundest depths of your subconsciousness.

Melissa Van Rossum

We all love to feel motivated. I know I do. It’s absolute nirvana to be on purpose and on task at the same time. But life often intervenes in my plans and that can mean stress, frustration and setbacks and I find that I have to live my life on Inner Motivation – particularly when the proverbial chips are down. Most of us wait for someone else to give us a reason to move ahead or we wait for circumstance or opportunity to line up in just the right way so we can move ahead with the inner commitment we’ve been holding back. We wait for our partner to say ‘I love you’ first, we wait for a sign of acceptance before we commit to revealing some part of ourselves and we wait for the evidence of the result before we commit our belief.

To many of us this seems like a smart or even shrewd way of going about business and life. We think we’re protecting and insulating ourselves by not putting too much ‘out there’ and therefore avoiding disappointment or (God forbid) rejection. In reality, though, this is actually a very dangerous way to live life because it puts your life and your happiness in someone else’s hands - a sure fire equation for misery. From the inside this may seem like a very controlled way to live life, but it’s actually a very out of control way to live life. That’s why it makes us so unhappy and leaves us so unfulfilled. There’s nothing dependable or controlled about it.

One of my favorite movie scenes is from the Indiana Jones movie where he (played by Harrison Ford) and his father (played by Sean Connery) are searching for the Holy Grail. Indiana’s father lies dying at the hands of the Nazis and to save his life Indiana must find the Holy Grail. To get to the Grail, Indiana has to accurately decode his father’s Grail diary which will enable him to make his way through certain life-threatening challenges. After successfully making his way through several of the tests, he comes to a huge chasm that lies between where he is and where he wants to be. He reads the Bible passage from his father’s diary which has to do with “faith being the evidence of things not seen”. He picks up a handful of sand and throws it out to the chasm only to see the sand fall on an invisible bridge.

I personally believe there lies a bridge across every chasm we face, no matter the depth or the breadth of the canyon. The path to whatever we want in life always exists and we can find it if we have the unwavering commitment and willingness to learn and grow in the ways required of us.

“Courage is the price that life extracts for peace of mind.”
Amelia Earhardt

When the relationship or the job or the project doesn’t go the way you wanted it to, you need to have Authentic Inner Motivation to get you to where you want to be. You can’t force yourself to be motivated. You have to develop it from the inside out. Having Authentic Inner Motivation at your disposal whenever you want it requires focus, commitment and discipline.

How do you do develop Authentic Inner Motivation? Let’s take a look at the formula:

1. Set Goals - First, decide what you want. Take your sales, income and personal goals, and be crystal clear about them. Write them down and look at them several times throughout the day. A vague goal of doing the best you can or giving your best every day won’t get you there. You have to clearly see what you want – and often.

I have a Vision Folder. Inside it I have photographs, pages from magazines and mock-ups that reflect my goals. It’s an easy and portable way to keep my goals in front me, and I look at them every morning and evening.

2. Commitment – Nothing happens without complete and total personal commitment. If you’re leaving out even 1% of your total dedication to accomplishing your goal, you won’t get there. Think about this…what would happen if your doctor had a 99% commitment to healing you or your loved one? Would that be enough for you? Would you have respect for them?

If you want to sleep well at night, if you want to be respected by those you’re in relationship with and if you want to have overwhelming self-respect – commit 155% of yourself to your goals and watch your life change for the better.

3. Self-Honesty – This is a tough one for some folks. Not everyone is comfortable taking a hard look within. But if you’re serious about being successful you need to look within to see what you’re doing to create your own experience. You also need to be honest about what skills you need to learn to get you to where you want to be. Also, take an honest internal inventory of your emotional health. If you’re carrying resentment from your last employment experience, your last relationship or any other experience, it’s limiting the success you create today.

Think about the people you’ve known that use resentment as insulation in their life – now notice how betrayal is a common theme in their life. There’s a reason for that. Call it the Law of Attraction, Karma, a self-fulfilling prophecy or the “as ye sow, so shall ye reap” principle, it means you are creating your own experiences. When you hold on to resentment, you are (subconsciously) believing that you don’t have a choice or any power in your current situation, that the other person is against you in some way and so this situation will turn negatively and there’s nothing you can do about it. Resentment always breeds betrayal in your life. Take an emotional inventory and heal and release the reasons for the negative emotions – particularly the resentment and watch the prosperity roll in!

4. Accountability – It doesn’t matter whether you listen to a minister, your favorite self-improvement author, your Mom or Dr. Phil, they will all tell you the same thing…your life is created from the inside out, so you might as well own it. Blame of any kind is a jail cell for your spirit.

5. Commit to Faith & Belief – Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the evidence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” - the faith and the belief has to come first – the evidence comes after. There was a book written several years ago under the title You’ll See It When You Believe It. Great title. In the tarot deck, the first card is the card of the Fool which shows a picture of a young man ostensibly walking off of the edge of the cliff – it’s said to be the bravest, most powerful card in the entire deck.

6. Have an Attitude of Gratitude – The most powerful words you can ever use, think or write is THANK YOU. Just as resentment can shut down your prosperity and relationships, an attitude of gratitude will open the floodgates of prosperity and love in your life. (Remember to use these powerful words with yourself as well!) Every life experience is a gift and a perspective of appreciation makes the inherent wisdom of our experiences all that more evident to us.

7. Practice Tolerance – Judgment is another self-limiting behavior that limits your success and hampers your motivation and creativity. Judgment is a terrible burden to carry around and creates a paranoiac state of mind. Practice tolerance and lighten your load!

8. Get Inspired – Inspiration comes from different sources for different people, and it’s essential that we know what works for us and that we prime these sources often. I have a writer friend who has her most motivating songs on a separate section on her iPod. When she feels blocked or frustrated or discouraged, one of the things she does is listen to those songs one by one. Long before the end of the songs she’s belting out the words right along with her favorite artist and she’s ready to take another stab at her project at hand. I like to go for a walk or a run outside. With two small children in my life I may only get ½ hour to squeeze in a run or a walk but that time is so inspirational to me. It really stirs my creativity. Meditating is inspirational as is a good movie, a good book or talking with someone else whose success you admire.

9. Take Care of Your Health – If you don’t feel well, it’s hard to stay motivated. So take good care of your health! Eat well, take vitamins, exercise every day, play, rest and enjoy your work! There’s a saying…anyone would give their money to have health, but no one would give their health to have money. Right now I’m really into juicing. It’s an idea that came to me while I was sitting outside (of course) next to the koi pond at Children’s Hospital when my son was ill last summer. As often as my husband could he would join us and come turn cartwheels to distract and make our son laugh so I could get some food into him. When –pop- there was the idea – juicing. It’s worked beautifully. Our son began drinking his veggies and since they’re masked under pineapple or apple or strawberries, he loves every drop. The rest of our family has started juicing as a result and I’m amazed at how good it makes you feel and how much energy it gives you! A friend of ours picked up the Jack Lalanne juicer for us while we were still in the hospital and he has a neat video on his site at http://www.powerjuicer.com .

Authentic Inner Motivation isn’t just a skill that will help you earn the kind of money that you want or that will make you happier while you’re doing it, it’s a way of living that will help you to live a happier and more successful life.

Use the AIM Formula in your work and let yourself shine! You’ll be happier, more successful and more prosperous for doing it.

We hear a lot about the dangers of secondhand smoke. These dangers are real. However, secondhand words can be just as destructive.

I’m referring to the negative words we hear at work, at home, on TV, etc. The words which are spoken, not necessarily to you, which lodge themselves in our subconscious mind just like secondhand smoke lodges itself in your lungs. The damage is not obvious at first, but with repeated exposure over time, these toxic words do serious damage.

Here are some examples of toxic word phrases:

“I can’t do it”

“I’m broke”

“My life stinks”

“Life’s a b**** and then you die”

Again, these words may not even be spoken TO you, but if you are exposed to them regularly, they will affect you.

Do you hang out at work with people who don’t really believe in their possibilities? You know the type. They get together to talk about how bad the job is and how pointless life is, etc. I’m certainly in favor of having compassion for fellow humans, but make sure you don’t get dragged down into the pit.

The best way to help someone out of a pit of despair is to make sure both of your feet are firmly planted on the ground and then you can pull them out safely. If you get down in the pit with them, who is going to help YOU? It’s YOUR job to help yourself, so take this job seriously. Keep your “subconscious lungs” clean, healthy, and fully-functioning.

So, how do we do this? By avoiding exposure to people who dwell on the negative. By filling our minds with positive phrases. By seeking associations with those who already believe in themselves and their possibilities.

If your kids worry, feel anxious or fearful, you might hear them say, “I can’t.” This can be hard on you and your child. If you want your child to take reasonable risks and try new things, let Knuckle Power come to the rescue. It’s a great parenting technique I learned years ago from NLP Classes. Knuckle Power (my term) can change “I can’t” into “I can.” Let’s find out how.

I remember a six-year old girl I’ll call “Sally” (not her real name). Sally’s mother brought her to counseling because Sally refused to go to her room. This caused problems at bedtime. Sally would scream and cry, “I’m afraid.”

Sally told me, “The lions and tigers will hurt me.” Sally believed that the lions and tigers from the local zoo were waiting for her in her bedroom. “It’s time for Knuckle Power,” I thought.

In talking with Sally, I found out that she needed bravery, confidence, and the feeling of success to deal with her fear of going to bed. I knew she could have all three with Knuckle Power.

“Sally,” I instructed, “press the top knuckle of your index finger with the index finger of you’re your other hand.” After she practiced a few times, I told her to tell me a time when she was very brave.

“I felt brave when I raised my hand and answered a question.”

I told Sally, “Describe it in detail and when you feel brave, press your knuckle.”

“That was fun!” exclaimed Sally.

I told Sally, “Tell me 5 brave things you’ve done, and when you have the brave feeling, press your knuckle.” Next, she told me 5 successful things she had done, and then five things she did with confidence. Each time she was to press her knuckle when she felt brave, successful, or confident. By the end of the session, Sally had 15 great feelings stacked on her knuckle.

Sally’s homework was to press her knuckle and to feel all those good feelings as she walked down the hall to her bedroom.

The Change:

Sally and her mother returned in two weeks. Her mother grinned saying, “Sally slept in her own bed every night without a single problem.” Sally smiled and said, “Yep, I just pressed my “button.”

In a Nutshell:

Identify your child’s problem.

Ask your child to identify qualities s/he needs to deal with the fear.

Explain how to use Knuckle Power.

Have your child press the index knuckle as s/he feels the needed qualities while telling you about each successful event.

Knuckle Power is great because your child will enjoy sharing all the successes. Don’t forget to tell your child to let you know the end results.

Knuckle Power changes “I can’t” to “I can.” Knuckle Power promotes reasonable risks, builds self-esteem and character too. Teach Knuckle Power to help your child feel great when facing fear. You’ll be glad you did.

hey say the eyes are the windows to the soul .... We’ve all seen this Neuro Linguistic Programming [NLP] model before.

If you look at a person face on and ask certain questions you can observe how an individual retrieves and stores certain information by the way their eyes move. e.g. “What colour is your front door?” The chances are they will look up to the right before answering.

If we ask them what they’re planning to do for their summer holidays, they’ll probably look up to the left before answering.Sometimes they might hear the sounds in their pictures or if they look down to the right they are listening to their inner voice.

If they look down to the left, they are actually feeling - there is an emotional bodily response.

So why is this useful?
Well it allows us to get an idea of their thought processes - are they a Visual, Auditory or Kinaesthetic person? In NLP we call these “Preferred Representaional Systems.”

So if when you ask questions you watch their eyes and see them look up. they are seeing pictures, so if you want to persuade them use visual words such as bright, pretty, focus, zoom in, etc.

The Truth about Eye Accessing!

Remember this is a general rule! It’s an NLP model and sometimes the model lies. Eye accessing cues have come under a lot of scrutiny over the last few years in NLP - many people access information in different ways! For example if they are left handed - the model may be reversed! The key to finding out is to ask questions and observe!

The Persuasion Skills NLP Power Tips

    1. Ask them about their favourite person their eyes will move as they search for the answer and then move to a spot. Guess What? That’s where they keep their friends!! If you want to persuade them stand in the same spot!!! You can check this by asking about people they don’t like! It will be a different spot. The key is to watch…

    2. Ask them questions that you know they’ll have to answer “yes” or “no” to. They’ll have a “yes” and a “no” spot I’ll leave it up to you to figure out the endless possibilities…

One of the most important and useful aspects of using NLP to
master yourself is in the art of creating resource states.
Resource states are states of mind that can be used to
positively re-program your past, present and future.

One of the classic uses in NLP is for programming a state of
confidence into your future. Most adults have experienced a
profound sense of confidence at some stage in their life.
Maybe it only lasted a few seconds and was many years ago.
This is fine. The beauty of NLP allows us to capture that
wonderful resource and create more of that state, and place
it exactly where we desire!

The amount of different useful states of mind is vast and
the fact is we hardly ever tap into these ‘hidden
resources.’ Resource states include; Confidence, Creativity,
Relaxation, Playfulness, Concentration, Perseverance,
Ecstasy.... Any others?

Here’s a couple of examples to clarify what I’m getting at:

Have you ever read a book that made you feel really
inspired? Where could you use that? How about programming
that state into your workplace? Do you compose music? Paint?
Giving a sales pitch?

Can you remember or imagine a time being in nature,
surrounded by mellow shades of green with soft sounds of
birds in the distance and a close by stream. Where could you
use that state of tranquility?

And now to the actual technique. Treat yourself to 10 - 15
minutes to do this the first time. As you practice the
technique more you’ll be able to achieve good results in
less time....

NLP Technique:

Program A Resource State Into A Future Situation

1. Think of a resource state you want more of in a future
situation. (Joy, Ecstasy, Fun, Creativity, Confidence,
Compassion etc.)

2. Relax down into a trance. (Use whatever way you want to
go into a relaxed state. e.g. Deep breathing, self-hypnosis,
meditation techniques.) The more relaxed you become the more
powerful the rest of the exercise will be, so enjoy becoming
more relaxed.

3. Remember a time you felt the chosen resource state
strongly. Or imagine a situation in the future that would
allow you to feel that resource state. NOTE: There are
several tips in the NLP ToolBox eBook to help you remember
better.

4. Fully associate into the experience and see what you saw
at the time, hear what you heard and feel those feelings.
Make the colours brighter, turn up the sounds and amplify
the feelings. Anchor this feeling by squeezing your finger
and thumb together.

5. Notice where those feelings are in your body. What colour
would you give these feelings? Imagine spreading that
colour/feeling up and down your body, amplifying the
feelings. When the feelings are amplified, again squeeze
your finger and thumb together to capture that feeling.

6. Break state. (Look around the room or remember your phone
number.)

7. Test Anchor: Squeeze your finger and thumb together. If
you’ve done the above steps correctly you should feel those
feelings coming back. Congratulate yourself (This is very
useful as it re-enforces the idea in your mind that you can
do these exercises and they will become even easier to do!)

8. Here’s a great tip they don’t often tell you in NLP
books. Treat yourself and make a ‘Super Resource State’? Go
back to step one and stack another state on top of the first
one. Squeeze the same finger and thumb together! Cool or
what? (Example: Confidence AND Creativity.)

9. Now think of a specific situation where this supreme
resource state would be useful.

10. Imagine what you will see/hear just before you want this
state to kick in. Example: The boss’s door, the eye’s of a
specific member of the opposite sex, a blank painting
canvas, a tennis ball etc.

11. Now fire the resource anchor by squeezing your finger
and thumb together whilst imagining being in the chosen
situation, unfolding as you desire it too.

Well done, you can now look forward to that future situation
even more. Where else and how else can you use the above
technique? (Hint: The possibilities are virtually
unlimited!)

Each time you practice the technique with another resource
state/situation you will condition your mind to make the
procedure even easier next time…

As long as you have the believe and the will power to back it up, you can do practically anything that your mind can conceive.

Skeptical about mind power? Ask ourself, why cancer patients who were given placebo pills got well? Placebos are just plain pills without medicinal properties and with no physical healing capabilities. So how did those patients get well?

Patients were told that these pills contained the highest amounts of cancer-fighting ingredients which could effectively cure them in a matter of days. As a matter of fact, the power to heal came from their thoughts.

Because they wanted to be healed and believed that their health would be restored. Their subconscious minds then registered the belief that these pills will cure them of their illnesses. In the process, the belief embedded within their subconscious became reality.

See how fantastic your mind power is? So how can you use your mind to achieve your dreams? One of the most effective ways is to use the “as if” principle. Act as if you are the person you want to be. Visualize and act as if you are already in possession of whatever you long to have.

Know what exactly you want to be? You want to be a lawyer, athlete, doctor, or an actor? Think, act, and feel like one. Always keep your goal in mind. Be constantly in touch with your objective an you’ll be much closer to your goal. Be like a lawyer, a doctor, an athlete, an actor. Be obsessed with your dream. You can be stronger, braver, smarter, stand taller. However, don’t try to fly out the window if you want to be Superman - that’s not a good idea at all!

Acting as though you are what you want to be is not enough. You have to actually behave and act differently and do what needs to be done. Don’t get so lost in your world of fantasy that you forgot take some necessary action to make things happen. Actualize your purpose not just in your head but in the real world. Encourage yourself with your own vision and motivation.

Don’t be far too preoccupied with our worries, anxieties, and negative emotions. This can adversely affect the state of our health, fostering stress-induced conditions and diseases. In some situations, white lies have been used to ease burdens of doubt or persuade others to do what they believed was unattainable.

Consider the case of this weight lifter who could never lift more than 300 lbs. Regardless of how hard he tried, he could not manage more. So one day his coach devised a clever plan. He told his weight lifter that the barbell in front of him weighed only 295 lbs. The weight lifter went to the barbell and with all his might, managed to lift it and put it above his head. After he put it down, the coach told him that he had just lifted 350 lbs. of weight!

It’s often true we can do what we think we can’t, if we change what’s in our heads. There’s an old saying: “Fortune favors the prepared mind. “I you think you can you can. If you think you can’t, it is almost certain that you can’t. It’s all in the mind!

A famous person once said, “Whenever you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”

If you don’t want to be poor, then you must not think you are poor. You must properly re-condition your beliefs and thoughts into a positive, rather than a negative, mindset. Sure it’s hard to think rich if your environment is not conducive to such way of thinking. No problem, use your imagination, it’s free! Visualize your house to be a mansion, your old car to be a limousine… and do it often. Use your mind to expand the possibilities. You get the picture.

There is absolutely no limit to what the mind can achieve. But you have to combine belief, will power, and action with positive thinking and a positive mindset in order to arrive at your intended destination.

There are a million ways to make a million dollars. You can take any activity, and someone has made a million doing it. Even to the professional vacationers that send in reports to the travel agencies, you can make money doing anything! What I hope to share with you in this article is not so much what to do in order to make money and increase your prosperity, but rather how to think about what you like to do and see the money-making possibilities within it!

We are never so limited as our imaginations make us. One of the most important topics we work with in the Keys To Power Mastery System is the topic of underlying assumptions. And here is why. If you assume that the only way to make money is to work for someone else, then you will never consider the idea of running your own business. And if you assume that there is no way to make money doing what you love to do, then you will lose out because of that assumption.

Underlying assumptions go a lot further in their effects on our lives than with our prosperity, since everything we think we know about the world is in one way or another a false assumption. For centuries, humanity assumed that the world was flat, or was the center of our solar system and the universe. We assumed that speeds over 30 miles an hour would kill us, or that no-one could possibly run a mile in under 4 minutes. All of these assumptions have been proven false, and many more will be proven false once we start to test their true validity.

But back to the topic of prosperity. Right now, there are many different ways you can make money that you are not even aware of. You have valuable skills, talents, knowledge, or aptitudes that you can use to trade for the things you want in life. You’ve no doubt heard the suggestion that you should follow your passion when deciding on a career. And the reasoning for this is that if you are passionate about the task that you are working on, you will do the job better than someone who isn’t passionate about it.

While you and I may not be passionate about plumbing, and would not be very good at it because of it, there are many people who find the subject absolutely engaging, and do a wonderful job accordingly. Although I’m passionate about photography, and do a very good job at it because of my passion, there are many people who try to make money as a photographer, but cannot make a living at it because they are not passionate about it, and the quality of their work shows it.

Most of us have many passions. We are not limited to only one interest in our lives. What then, should we focus on in order to make money. Here is where I had the greatest difficulty. There was one question that I stumbled upon that really solved the problem, however, and that question is: “How can make the biggest contribution to the world?” Another way of phrasing that is “What will you do to leave your mark on the world?” or “How will you make the world a better place?”

Once I spent some time thinking about that question, I realized that my photography, as profitable as it was, was not going to be the greatest contribution I could make to the world. The information I had gathered over the years in my (very passionate) study of the human mind, spirituality, and the system that has become the Keys To Power, would be the greatest contribution to the world that I could make. And now that I’ve been working on this project for about 7 months, it is already proving to be more profitable than my photography was! Such is the Power of making a genuine contribution to the world!

Now, lets bring out a very important point here that may get missed otherwise. One of the reasons that making a contribution to the world brings greater prosperity is that contributions are valuable. Value produced equals prosperity received. If you remember this one line, you will always know exactly how to make money.

Many of the people that I usually talk to are a little unsure on exactly what constitutes value, or at least the type of value that can be exchanged for money. Here are some ideas that will increase the value of any service or product in the eyes of the average consumer.

A pleasant, helpful attitude. “What can I do for you?” “I’d love to do that for you.” People have too much to do already.

Smiles and other expressions of joy and happiness. People like to be around happy people.

Behavior that matches that of your customer. People like to be around people like themselves. In this regard, speak just as softly, loudly, fast, or slow as the person you’re talking to. Sit if they are sitting, and stand if they are standing. Just don’t be obvious about this or it will backfire on you.

Attention to details. This is one of the basic definitions of quality. All of the details of your service or product are the best they can be. This takes time to master, so it is one way to identify a professional as opposed to an amateur.

Genuine interest and caring for your customer. Too many people are going through life without enough appreciation and acceptance. The person who gives this will be rewarded many times over with extra sales.

Excitement and enthusiasm. One reason that sporting events and amusement parks make so much money is because they have so much excitement associated with them. People pay money to experience these feelings.

I think you get the basic idea. People don’t always pay money just for a product or service, but also for the experience of getting that product. Here’s how it works in my profession, photography. I’ve seen some very excellent photographers who were able to create absolutely beautiful portraits. But they didn’t have the “fun and exciting” personality when working with their customers. Since the customers didn’t have fun when getting their portraits taken, they ended up not liking the final results. Other photographers I know are able to create the fun and exciting atmosphere for their customers, and even though the final portraits may not be as good, the customers spend much more money. The only explanation for this is that the customers were paying (or not paying) depending on how much fun they had while getting the photos taken. I’ve seen the same thing happen in places that change oil in cars, in restaurants, and in many other types of businesses as well.

McDonald’s, that king of the fast food business. What value do they offer? Speed, convenience, fun for kids. Definitely not high quality food, even though you would first think that quality food would be a necessity to succeed in a food business. The food meets a minimum standard, but the other qualities of their service wins the majority of their business.

Here’s a valuable question. What value do the employees of a business like McDonald’s provide? They perform a task that is essential to the operation of the restaurant, but they also offer more than that. The attitude that they have when working affects other employees and the customers as well. Helping the other employees with their jobs adds value to their service, as does being a source of encouragement, inspiration, and information. Employees like this never need to worry about being fired, let go, or laid off.

The last thing that I want to cover is about what kind of possibilities can you pursue. Too many people believe that it’s impossible to make money doing the thing they want to do. So let’s cover some of the ways money can be made in unconventional ways.

You can be paid to take vacations if you sign on with a travel agency to report on various vacation spots.

You can be paid to tell jokes, play music, or pretend to be someone else in the entertainment industry.

You can be paid to write poetry for many different publications.

You can be paid to take everyday snapshots for various publications.

You can be paid to play golf if you turn professional and compete in the major tournaments.

The same is true for any other sporting activity.

You can be paid to be a mom to other people’s kids if you open a daycare center.

You can be paid to be a grandparent in many of today’s public schools.

You can be paid to have an overactive imagination in several industries - fiction writing, movie making, and more.

You can be paid to argue if you promote yourself to high level corporate offices. (They sometimes need to see the problems with their ideas before they become problems.)

.....and......

You can be paid to have sex in the porn industry.

So, you see, you can be paid to do just about anything!

Here’s one more rule of thumb that will help guide you into the really big money. The more people you can help, the more money you can make. And if you can help people without having to be physically involved, like with a book, a recording, or by performing a program for many people at once, then you have the capability of making huge amounts of money!

Think about it. No matter how much you could charge for your time, you are limited in the amount of money you can make. Even if you could charge $1,000 per hour, you could only make $8,000 per day, or $40,000 per week. But if you write a book that sells 100,000 copies in a week (like some Stephen King novels do), then you could make $250,000 in that week! Without having to do any more work than it took to write the book. Same thing with a recording, whether that is music, instructional, drama, or whatever. Professional athletes are paid millions because they entertain thousands of fans at a time.

So, your key to unlimited prosperity is to find out what you are truly passionate about. Then find out a way you can offer a product or service based on your passion, that will contribute the most good to the world. And figure out how to benefit the greatest number of people at a time. Of course, you probably won’t be able to hit the big time right out of the gate. You will probably have to work up to it. But work with patience and consistency, ever mindful of your goal, and you will increase your prosperity tremendously!

Here is a story I just had to share with you all as I think it demonstrates just how amazing life can become once you start to realise your potential and tap into your subconscious mind to create a better future for yourself.

This story is about how I became the editor for an online newsletter and the incredible synchronicity that led to the appointment.

The story is best told by Iain Legg of Real Mind Power Secrets:

“A few weeks I wrote to 4 people about this possible new position. They were all active on our Super Mind Forum, had a massive interest in mind power and our system, were excellent writers and communicators and had a genuine interest in helping improve people’s lives. The ideal characteristics of the perfect editor.

I spoke to one of the guys on the phone called Jules and the first thing he asked me was whether Phil, my business partner, knew I had called him. Phil had left all the recruitment to me so had no idea whatsoever.

It turns out that this person was a very good friend of Phil and had known him 13 years. He had even been to a wedding with Phil in the summer and wanted to be a part of the team but Phil said no as there were no positions at the time.

It’s funny how the universe sometimes works its magic…

And a few other strange synchronicities to this story -

Phil first approached me through a forum. Almost exactly a year later I approached Jules through a forum.

Phil had been using Subjective Communication at the time to help find a partner. Jules had been using Subjective Communication at the time to help boost his business.”

Author: Dr. Barbara Becker Holstein

What are the tools to get to THE ENCHANTED SELF part of ourselves? What skills do we need in order to find happiness that is unique and sustainable for each person?
This paper outlines the positive psychology methods that you need to employ to enter each of the “Seven Gateways to Happiness.”

First Gateway: Honoring what is Right about Ourselves Rather Than What is Wrong

As women, we’re all experts in identifying what is wrong with ourselves. We can probably quickly make up a long list, detailing what is wrong in our lives. However, it’s a lot harder to get in touch with what is right. We need to know ourselves in positive ways. We need to learn how to honor our talents, strengths, even our coping skills which serve us so well. And most important, we need to treasure and enjoy our potential.

These parts of us, if not honored, identified and talked about both to ourselves and to others, will lose their power. We have to keep igniting them. We need to get to know ourselves in ways that emphasize the heroic, strong parts of ourselves. This means using our memories in very different ways from what we’ve been accustomed to. It means searching through our history to find our talents, strengths and even lost potential, even if we have to sort through pounds of dysfunction. It means searching our past for what is right about ourselves, not for what is wrong.

Gateway Two: Falling in Love with Ourselves

This is an extremely important gateway. This gateway is achieved after we have made efforts to reclaim and honor our talents, capacities, strengths, lost potential and coping skills. Now we are ready. We no longer break our hearts by putting ourselves down and saying “No, no, you can’t do that,” or “You’re stupid.” Now we are ready to say, “Yes, I love myself. I have a lot to offer. I am capable of having fun. I am capable of doing good, and no one can sidetrack me from who I really am.”

When you fall in love with yourself, you begin to feel the positive self-esteem that comes when we don’t deflate ourselves. You’re ready to take yourself out for tea or to that wonderful spa for a day, or to go back and play the piano, which you always wanted to do. You’re ready to recognize all the tools of wisdom that you have to offer. You’re ready
to recognize that you have an Enchanted Self that deserves to be part of your every day. When you love yourself, you know when you need help. You know when you need guidance. It isn’t a narcissistic love where you feel that you are perfect. It’s a love of yourself, as you would love a child. If the child is ill, you take the child to the doctor. If the child comes home with a good paper from school, you put it on the refrigerator. It’s a self-acknowledgment that makes you viable, real, and whole. Now you’ve become really ready to see the story of your life in a positive light. Even the disappointments, even tragedies have served only to hone you like tempered steel. You’ve been through the battles and have emerged stronger. You’re in charge of your own self, a most wonderful feeling!

Gateway Three: Learning to Meet Our Needs and Negotiate Successfully

There’s nothing more demoralizing than a woman who does not know how to speak up for herself, who doesn’t have a voice for herself. When we feel ignored or not understood, we can feel rage and anger building. Often as women we find ourselves in a predicament where we don’t know how to speak up. We simply don’t know how to negotiate for what we want. While sometimes it’s a cultural attitude that we’ve taken on, for instance that women should be demure, quiet, and modest, often it’s due to a lack of understanding the appropriate skill-set necessary for negotiating effectively. All of these factors put a tremendous pressure on our true capacities. Our future happiness or fulfillment is restricted simply because we don’t know the right road to get there.
Learning how to meet our needs and how to negotiate appropriately is a lot of work, but the satisfaction far outweighs the work. When you have been able to speak with integrity
to a husband, mother-in-law or a boss, when you have been able to finish a level of training that moves you ahead professionally, you’re really living your Enchanted Self.
You feel as special as you deserve to feel. It’s worth every moment of effort.

Gateway Four: Replenishment - Truly coming home to our Enchanted Self

Replenishment, joy, pleasure and delight are all parts of truly coming home to our Enchanted Selves. If any gateway is the pivotal gateway for a woman, it is this gateway.
This is the gateway that we must return to above all others, as frequently as possible. It is where we fuel up, where we energize. It is where we fill ourselves again so that we can meet the needs of others, be the caretakers of the world, bring up our children, spend time with the elderly, and do the hundreds of womanly tasks that we do, including having a full time job and running a home.

It may seem strange to you at first, but the smartest way to fill up again once we’ve become depleted is to bring personal satisfaction and replenishment back into our own lives. This means really knowing who you are, loving yourself and knowing how to meet your needs. If you feel rejuvenated after a great game of tennis, then that works for you. If you try to fill up by going to a comedy performance or having a massage, you may remain on empty if it isn’t right for you. Choosing what is right differs from person to person, so invest some good thought into finding out what is right for yourself. In THE ENCHANTED SELF: A Positive Therapy, I teach how to sort through your memories to get to know yourself, so that you can really tune in on the best forms of replenishment, joy and pleasure for you. A general rule of thumb is to look for what has felt good in the past, and try to either duplicate it or find a way to transform the activity into a form that works for your present stage of life. For example, a long swim in a lake in childhood might now be light swimming, walking in the pool at the local “Y,” and a cup of coffee!

Gateway Five: Coming Home or Going Away, Finding Tribes in Which to Belong

As women we find ourselves automatically belonging to certain groups. There’s the family we’re born into, the family we may have created through marriage, and all sorts of other groups going on in our lives: PTA groups, office colleagues and church affiliations, etc.

Many women don’t realize how critical it is to belong to groups. Depression feeds very quickly off of isolation. By nature most women not only share commonly in our care taking and in our concerns about others, but we enjoy and thrive when we’re a part of the right groups. We want to be connected. We don’t want to be isolated.
Choosing the right groups, the right tribes to belong to, is part of the dilemma and the wonderment of going through adult life. While our children don’t always have much freedom in choosing what groups they belong to, sometimes they can be so greatly against an activity that we finally let them quit. We may let them leave the Girl Scouts or little league, or perhaps stop taking piano lessons, thus letting them make their own determinations.

But we, as adult women, can on the whole always have the privilege and luxury of picking our groups. It may well be time, as your children get older, to say “goodbye” forever to the PTA. It may be time to find a religious affiliation that is or is not connected to your heritage or what you were initially exposed to.

Gateway Six: Sharing Our Wisdom, Mentoring and Being Mentored

As women, we live in a golden age. We have more education than women have historically had access to. We live longer; we’re healthier; we look better. Everything is really in our favor if we know how to absorb and share our wisdom and knowledge. The key to making use of all our opportunities, and maybe even the key to a happy and healthy longevity, is learning what we need to learn. What a lot of women don’t realize is that mentoring can come in many different forms. I can be sitting with an 85-year-old
woman and in listening to the story of her life have my heart warmed and my courage heightened, just by hearing the things she’s had to deal with and live through in her many years. I can also be in the presence of a two-year-old and learn the infectious, delightful nature of laughter once more, a lesson I may have forgotten too often. I can be taking a walk at the shore, listening to the sounds of the ocean waves and letting them soothe me, reminding me of the constancy of Mother Nature and her efforts to keep the world whole and in rhythm. Wherever a woman passes in her life, she can be giving and receiving profound levels of exchange with nature and with other people of all ages and all stages of life. This is indeed what the good life is all about.

Gateway Seven: Positive Action, Remember the Notion of a Good Deed

This Gateway is the gateway of positive action, or “Why not do a good deed, it can’t hurt!” We’re all faced with bouts of discouragement, letdowns and disappointments, and for women, certainly the cycle of life itself has its ups and downs. Anyone fortunate enough to have longevity on her side will inevitably sustain losses and disappointments. None of the Gateways to Happiness can totally prevent a person from the necessary bumps and grinds of life, but what they do provide are mechanisms not only with which to pick ourselves up heroically, but to strengthen ourselves and make the world a better place for us. One of the very best ways to do this is through positive action. I look at positive action in three ways.

For one thing, it’s good practice to take positive action, whether it’s about a personal issue in your own life, or to help others. This forces us to practice timeliness, good behaviors, and often good logic and decision-making.

Secondly, taking positive action can definitely help offset loneliness, letdown feelings, and feelings of discouragement. It does this by the act of pushing us into connecting with people, sharing with people and having the opportunity to experience the happiness shared by others when they are affected by something positive that we do. The cliché, “A smile is more infectious than a frown,” definitely holds true in this case.

Thirdly, doing positive action helps us to grow emotionally and spiritually. And it helps the world at large. It is a win-win for everybody and everything alive.

Positive psychology in general and the Enchanted Self Gateways to Happiness emphasize how important and how much fun it can be to rediscover the best of ourselves.

I wish you good luck and good times as you enter the Gateways to Happiness!

We live in a world today that is full of perceptions, deceptions and misconceptions; it is often hard to tell one from the other when learning about new things.

Hypnosis is no stranger to an incredible amount of misconceptions, which is why it is important to really understand what those misconceptions are before assuming you can or cannot accomplish an objective through hypnosis. To really understand what hypnosis, or anything for that matter, is you must first understand all that it is not.

Once you know what hypnosis is not, everything you are left with is what hypnosis is.

Hypnosis has been given many false pretenses through the media, movies and just plain rumor. Hypnosis is not the ability to have complete domination over one’s mind, nor is it domination over another human being.

Another thing hypnosis is not is the ability to dominate another’s will. In a nutshell there is nothing about hypnosis that will lead you to complete domination of the world or human kind, so if this is your intention you should stop here and embark on a new path.

The misconceptions that surround hypnosis can seem almost endless, which can often be the case when you consider any type of work that is associated with power over ones mind, thoughts, ideas and actions.

There are all kinds of associations and false ideas that are created when society acknowledges that power accompanies any way of life, this include hypnosis. For example money carries the connotation of power, however unless you are knowledgeable about how to be powerful with money you will fail.

The misconceptions about hypnosis must be wiped from the slate if you are serious about becoming an eloquent and masterful hypnotist.

The most common misconception in the field of hypnosis is that associated with power. Yes it is true that you will own a sort of power over the mind of your subjects, however this is not to say you will be able to control them completely.

Quite the opposite, part of hypnosis that few are aware of is that hypnosis is actually a type of negotiation with the unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is where you store your base of morals and ethics, and while you can as a hypnotist negotiate with the unconscious, you will never be able to change or control one’s morals and ethics.

The ethical code stored in the unconscious is unbreakable, these are the ideas, beliefs and moral standards that every person chooses to live their life by.

Among the common myths of hypnosis is the idea that one can completely control another, this is a myth simply because a person, whether in hypnotic trance or not, will only do what they want to do.

A good example of this is the common entertainment of stage hypnotists. Stage hypnotists will ask for volunteers from their audience, volunteers know on some level that they will be asked while in a hypnotic state to do things that they may not be aware that they are doing, they may even be embarrassing.

However on some level in their minds they are volunteering because they crave the attention that comes from being exhibitionists. The volunteers know they will be controlled by the hypnotist and they are consciously okay with that because it does not cause conflict with their moral code.

Another common myth about the art of hypnosis is that you can create a person so controlled that they will do your evil bidding, or acts that a hypnotist may not want to be personally responsible for. This again is untrue on the level that this will most often conflict with the moral standing and ethics of most people, therefore is not possible.

All this leaves us with what is left, which is what hypnosis really is. Conversational hypnosis is a way of healing and helping people to live better, healthier and happier lives through the art of language and suggestion. Hypnosis is used to its full potential when all parties are prospering from it; the ‘hypnotic messenger’ is a prime example of this.

The ‘hypnotic messenger’ was created when two hypnotists who were seeing the same subject and exchanged messages through the subject.

The messages were placed in the subconscious while the person was in a hypnotic state. As the subject visited each hypnotist and relayed the messages back and forth the hypnotists gave him free treatments as they felt a little shame in the amusing yet harmless game they were playing.

The subject continued to deliver the messages and everyone learned from the situation. The subject was receiving free therapy, and the hypnotists were not only amusing themselves but learning in the process.

This process worked because there was no moral rule being broken or violated in the process of message relay, subconsciously the subject was in agreement or had not conflict with the messages the hypnotists were sending back and forth.

On the other hand a client that is given the subconscious message to do harm to another will not carry out the suggestion because it will often conflict with their morals.

A subject that is asked to commit an act that is forbidden by their religion will not do so even if it is something that may seem harmless to many people, such as dancing. All suggestions and whether they are carried out or not depends on the moral code of the subject and whether or not they truly, ethically believe it is an acceptable behavior.

As a hypnotist it is important to focus on the fact that your goal is to help the mind fulfill what is important to that person, find and fulfill it’s purpose, in this the unconscious mind will do all that is necessary and possible to reach that goal and work with the hypnotist for complete success.
